Maricela's Bar and Grill

We ended up coming here after a not so good experience at another restaurant in which we left there and decided to try the new place in town. Love the atmosphere of this place, the booths are cozy but still well lit. We were seated quickly and had drinks within minutes (waited 15 mins at the other place for water and a menu..) Our waitress was very friendly and attentive and answered our questions about menu items. The Tex Mex enchiladas were very good, and the rice is GREAT! My husband got the charro beans, it was like a soup and also very good! The chicken in the tacos was a touch dry, but otherwise everything was flavorful.

Much better than the old Gonzales Building. Service is great. Typically, we get seated right away. We've had supper serval times & it's good. Had breakfast for the 1st time today. It was delicious. If you want shredded hashbrowns, you have to ask, or else it will be a small hashbrown patty. We didn't know that. Overall, it is good value for the money.

I promise you my expectations are not high once so ever. I Walked in had to wait on someone to come to register to take my order. I sat on the butterfly bench to wait on my order but got up to use the restroom only to arrive back to the bench where they literally left my food sitting. There weren’t many people in the restaurant so I didn’t make a deal of it even though that’s very unsafe to do. Got home tasted the food, personally I’ve had way better an expected better since reviewing the reviews prior to choosing this place but I personally don’t think the food was worth returning . 1-10 I’d give the food a 4.5. The beef enchiladas were so so I personally think it lacked flavored an so did the beans and rice(considering the culture here) I also got the taco salad, it was regular/decent. I love food , an I love trying new places but I won’t be back nor will I recommend it to anyone unless they are visiting Rockdale an just want to meet up for primarily for drinks. I will admit the decoration an cleanliness was on point!

Always my go to place when I'm in Rockdale. I've had the shredded chicken taco salad, and always get the super nachos. Everything is well balanced. They go over load on their meat products. Never cheap in the meat. Highly recommend.

Wonderful experience! Definitely a town favorite. Drink menu on point, a lot of options. The AMF is a must to try, but you can’t go wrong their margaritas. A lot of options, and friendly staff, you can’t go wrong giving Maricela’s a try.

Maricela’s is wonderful! Gonzales has moved and this place is wonderful!!! We were regulars at Gonzales and will be here too. The food was great and the people are amazing. We came with big group and our server was great to us. We’ll be back for sure!!

Solid mexican food, excellent interior, very nice. Highly recommended. I would definitely go back!
